Good evening, everyone ♥
Hope all my Northeastern neighbors are keeping dry!
While doing a little web-browsing today,
I stumbled upon an artist's site whose
work I totally fell in love with:

Here's a short biography of Ms. Erickson:
"Brenda, owner of Recipe Paintings, Inc., is watercolor artist,
primarily self-taught, who specializes in the illustration
of family recipes. She is a Maine native, born and raised in Kittery,
who now lives in Round Pond. Apple Pie, Blueberry Pie, Steamed Mussels
and Lobster Bake are among the favorite recipes she illustrates.
Her paintings are sold through local gift stores, shows, restaurants
and has been recently selected by nationally distributed Sturbridge
Yankee Workshop Catalog. Brenda's work has also been recently
featured on 207 Magazine Show on WCSH-6, an NBC affiliate."

You can order one of these prints on her website;
all of them go for about $45.00, which is pretty
reasonable considering how unique they are!
And for (quite) a few more bucks, you can
e-mail her with one of your recipes,
and receive your very own original,
personalized Recipe Painting!
How cool is that?
Oh! And if you're lucky enough to live
in the Maine area, you can find her prints
at various craft fairs and retail stores
(all listed on her website.)

She's just got to do a cookbook!

This is the coolest thing - I love her paintings and the recipes look great. I've never been to New England and I'd love to go someday. For now, I'l;l subscribe to your post and live vicariously through you!
ReplyDeleteHi Erin -
ReplyDeleteI love the illustrations - I'd love to own the monkey bread one! The drinks she drew for the punch recipe remind me of Susan Branch's style. I hope someday she does a cookbook of her own.
By the way, do you happen to know the topic of the new book Susan Branch is working on? Maybe a Spring book? The nice weather we're having here makes me want to get out her Summer book!
oh wow....i LOVE these paintings. and how cool to be able to get one of your own too!!! thanks for introducing me to this wonderful artist. i wish i could paint like that!
